Auspicious Chinese Names

Auspicious Chinese names in the art of name selection must observe these 'rules'.
1. Good number of Chinese names strokes
There are two methods used.
1. The more common method: The number of strokes in each part must complement the whole. Each part refers to each frame in the Chinese names strokes concept.
Heaven, Human, Earth, External and Total Frames must all complement each other. This is based on the concept of 5 elements.
2. The second more powerful unknown method: Another numerology method, which is based on Yijing concept, look at the year of birth and the total number of strokes. They must be compatible with each other. I use this second method. It is not revealed on this website.
2. Smooth flow of energy in the 5 elements
As commonly mentioned in the Yijing (I-Ching) study, the 5 elements are Wood, Fire, Earth, Gold and Water.
In the study of 5 elements in Yijing, everything belongs to an element. The Ten Heavenly Stems, the 12 Earthly Branches, 4 seasons, all the compass directions, body shape, colors, taste etc.
Even different Chinese characters belong to different elements. Consider the element of the Chinese characters when you want to use it in a name.
The 5 elements have mutual productive or destructive relationship. Think about the best characters suitable for a person's zodiacal year of birth.
3. Complementing date of birth
Auspicious Chinese names certainly must complement a person's date of birth or Bazi 八字 (Chinese birth chart).
After identifying the element in the Bazi, we can select the most appropriate Chinese characters. Based on the concept of the above 2 rules, select the best characters.
4. Complementing parents' elements
Many people always forget this part. A baby's name that is carefully selected can complement the parents' elements.
We choose the proper number of strokes and the elements. Then the elements in the Chinese characters can flow smoothly with the parents' elements.
5. Auspicious Chinese characters
The auspicious Chinese characters combining with all the rules above will form the best names.
Their good meanings make them great for use in the name. Some good meanings you can consider are: glory, beautiful, handsome, benevolence, mighty, famous, fortunate, healthy, strong, auspicious etc.
6. Sounding great
However, be careful. Some auspicious Chinese characters can share the same sound with some other funny or bad words.
Think about how all the characters sound when you combine them with your surname.
Remember to have a good name sound. Pleasant and melodious to the ear. Easy to pronounce. Very important. Don't let it sound funny in at least the major languages that you will be hearing often.
For example, in Malaysia the Malay language, English and of course Chinese are spoken. There are also numerous Chinese dialects spoken among the Chinese in Malaysia. Make sure the Chinese name does not sound funny or has bad connotations in those languages.
Well, I am sure you know, kids in school like to make fun of each other's name. And living in a multi-lingual country can mean that even if your name sounds great in Chinese, it may not in other people's language.
