Best Chinese Names

The 4 Hidden Factors
In Your Name

Tao

Looking for the best Chinese names? Learn about the 4 hidden factors that can make or break your name.

Form. Every Chinese character is unique in the way it was created. The creation of the Chinese characters, in my opinion, was by very clever ancient Chinese people. Look at the character 東 dōng, meaning east. East in Chinese metaphysics study is represented by the wood element, 木 mù. And east is where the sun rises. Sun is 日 rì. By combining the symbols 木 and 日, 東 dōng is created.

Another example. The character for good, 好 hǎo is actually a combination of 女 nǚ (girl) and 子 zǐ (son). In ancient times, when a family has a daughter and a son, it is auspicious. It is good to be balance. The yin and yang.

It is very important to look at how the Chinese character is written. For example, the characters 誠 and 鋮 are pronounced the same way, chéng. The first one has a 言 symbol on the left, the second one has a 金. Which is better? Which character is compatible to you?

The best Chinese names must have good form. The shape of the characters. How does one character's shape compared with the others in the name. How do they complement each other. The order of the characters. Which comes first. We have to consider these.

Calculation. Written in the ancient text 太極生兩儀,兩儀生四象,四像生八卦,八卦定吉凶. Roughly translated as: Taiji (the big universe) gives birth to dual-force, dual-force gives birth to four forms, four forms gives birth to bagua (eight trigrams), bagua determines auspicious or inauspicious.

Here, it shows that everything in this big universe originated from taiji. And from the taiji, we can divide things into yin and yang (which is the dual-force). This can be further divided into 4 then to the 8 trigrams. Therefore, we can determine or calculate everything with the eight trigrams. In the eight trigrams, there are the 5 elements. In the date of birth, there is the zodiac, the heavenly stems, and earthly branches. The nayin. And many more.

Calculation in Chinese names refers to whether a name is good for the person. Whether it is suitable for the person based on his or her date of birth (the origin point of a person). Whether the Chinese characters complements that person and becomes auspicious for him or her. All these must be carefully calculated.

The best Chinese names are definitely carefully calculated. The hidden elements are studied. The calculated name must complement or enhance the person's luck.

Sound. Chinese characters are monosyllabic. There are characters though written differently, they sound exactly the same. Example, the characters 凶 and 兄 are read the same - xiōng. 凶 means bad, while 兄 means elder brother. So if a person's name has the character 兄, would it sounds like 'bad' when someone calls the name?

Good sounding name is like saying a good prayer. Or a good mantra. Our name can become a mantra that brings good health to us. Choose names that are easy to pronounce and smooth sounding.

Most successful Chinese have the best Chinese names. Because their names sound memorable and nice to the ear.

Meaning. When we read a word, we will also think about the meaning. And thinking about the meaning creates a thought. If the meaning is not very good, will it also create a bad thought? Of course.

Think about this. If a lady's name has the word 美 měi, what will you think about when you call her name? If you know the Chinese meaning, I am sure you will be thinking about 'beautiful' or 'pretty'. How would you feel if you are being called 'pretty' or 'handsome' the whole day? Your whole life? Is it a good feeling?

If you are a parent choosing a name for your baby, what expectation do you have of her? What is the meaning that you would like to associate with the baby?

It is very important to have good meanings in the name. People will send good thoughts and energy to you when they call out your name.

Remember these 4 hidden factors. For the best Chinese names, choose meaningful name together with good form, well-calculated strokes and great sounding name.
