How do we predict with I-Ching (yijing)?

I-Ching is a book of 64 hexagrams.

The hexagrams are formed by stacking one trigram on top the other. There are 8 basic trigrams (example, ?) and by having different combinations, we get 64 hexagrams (8 X 8).

Below is a very simple demonstration of how to predict with I-Ching.

A friend told me she has tendered her resignation with the company. But she was still thinking about whether her decision to leave was right.

It was 21 June 2010, 10:53am. Using the Chinese lunar date and time, I got these hexagrams.

This is the Plum Blossom I-Ching Prediction method. And they have 3 hexagrams. The first hexagram explains the beginning. The second hexagram explains the progress of the situation. The third hexagram explains the final part of the whole story.

First hexagram:

Hexagram 45 - Cui, Greatness

If you go to the link and read the red sentence, it says: Gathering. A time to form strong bonds.

I told my friend: This hexagram shows that you have come to this current company (gathering). And you have form a strong bond with the colleagues and the job (strong bonds). You have become good in what you are doing (greatness). This explains why you are worried to move to a new job.

Second hexagram:

Hexagarm 53 - Jian, Development

This explains: You have slowly developed and progress in the job. Yet you find the progress too slow. And you find it hard to get along with your boss.

Third hexagram:

Hexagram 12 - Pi, Standstill

Ha, I laughed. And told my friend: It is clear to me now. You find that you have reached a standstill or stagnation in your job. You want to learn more. But you find there is nothing more to learn here. That is why you want to leave.

I said more: Don't worry, I-Ching has even shown what you are feeling now. Your decision is correct to leave.

☷ This is a 申 Monkey month's hexagram, that is August. It was June. She left two months later.

After seeing how I used I-Ching to explain her situation, my friend was amazed.

I told her: There is another thing that you will find even more amazing. I can even see how much your monthly salary is with the new company.

She didn't believe and thought I was merely joking. She asked: OK, tell me. Tell me.

I gave her the figure: I see 14 (as in 14,000).

She said: Ding, OMG, that's spot on!

This is how amazing I-Ching is. And I am still amazed with how the inventor of I-Ching was able to come up with the names for all the 64 hexagrams. Because you can see, the names of the hexagram are still relevant today. Whatever hexagrams that I get, they tell the story accurately.

Who was this person who invented I-Ching for prediction?

The above is just a simple prediction method using I-Ching. There are other more advanced methods. It is not revealed here.

Business Partners Compatibility‏
by: Anonymous

Hi All,

Recently, I was invited by a friend to join her as business partner. I fully understand that we need to have a lot of communication, mutual agreements etc to become a business partners.

I knew that we may not be able to work as partners we are totally different in terms of working style, character, business goal etc.

However, I refused to work for people for life, therefore, I went to a temple located at Si Ma Ru, Singapore to ask whether it was a right time to set up the business with her or alone. The outcome is bad and bad for both questions.

But, I was dissatisfied with the above answer as I did not want to surrender to my fate.

Therefore, I sought for help from Master Ding. Simply, he just asked me for 2 numbers. Based on his analysis using yijing, he told me that the partner or myself are not 'strong' enough to start the business and the business may not be successful. He advised me it is not a good timing for me to start any business now.

After getting the answer, I started to analyse our (myself and my business's partner) strength and weaknesses and realised that we may not be strong enough to grow the business. Eventually, I agreed with what he analysed.

Thanks, Master Ding.

Should I move on?
by: Stella, Ch'ng

Hi All,

I would like to share my experience with all of you.

I am a free thinker and I will just make a decision without asking for any advice. One day, I needed to make a decision which may is significant in my life. Out of no choice, I just simply posted my question to Master Ding whether I should stay on with my firm which I have a great chance to become a partner of the firm. Surprisingly, he was able to analyse my scenario accurately.

Outcome of Analysis from Master Ding (30 November 2009):

There are two stories from his calculations:

First story:

- There are two elder females who are very rigid in their work not flexible. this causes unhappiness to u.

- Your dilemma is not so much about cost, it's more about your happiness that u r seeking.

- it says to follow, but i know it will take away your happiness. since u value happiness a lot.

- the story continues, if u follow, it will slowly develop your maturity, there will be gradual progress in maturing.

- However, at the end, u will still leave. perhaps when u gather more experience or know better what u want. maturing has many meaning it could mean in the work development. in the work to be more accurate or the job. it makes u see things in another perspective.

Second Story:

- You may want to follow and develop further in the work, but u will eventually still be not happy and leave.
- it says u will leave, soonest Feb and August or September 2010 if later

In Dec 2009, I tendered my resignation but rejoined the firm after Christmas holiday as I did not believe all of the above. However, I was still not happy working there although I forced myself to continue as there may have great opportunity in my career advancement. Eventually, I decided to resign in Feb 2010 as happiness is more important than my wealth.

I was so impressed, when I referred back the analysis from Master Ding as it was so accurate.

Thanks Master Ding as your analysis is so accurate.

Regards,
From Singapore
