I Ching Hexagram 29
Kan, Water

Water depths. Roll with the flow to ride out danger.

First line Yin: He gets into a whirlpool. Misfortune. He does not examine the flow of water and recklessly tries to ford the river.

Second line Yang: Surging waters all around him. He needs to be prudent.

Third line Yin: He is confronted by the watery depths, whether he advances or retreats. He should stop and rest, otherwise he will sink.

Fourth line Yin: A jug of wine, a bowl of grain, and extra jars of each are passed in by a rope through the watery depths. In the end, he comes to no harm.

Fifth line Yang: The watery depths are not overflowing. Order is approaching. No risk.

Top line Yin: He is tied up with ropes and imprisoned behind walls of thorn bushes. For three years he cannot escape. Misfortune.
