I Ching Hexagram 3
Tun, Retreat

Initial Difficulties. Birth pangs.

First line Yang: When you are hesitant and not getting anywhere, stay upright. Find helpers.

Second line Yin: Mounted on a horse but at a standstill. A girl is chaste; she declines to marry. She will wed in ten years.

Third line Yin: Chasing deer without a guide, one only gets lost in the forest. Advancing leads to trouble.

Fourth line Yin: Mounted on a horse but at a standstill. If you seek partnership it bodes well to go ahead. There is no disadvantage.

Fifth line Yang: There is difficulty granting favors to others. It is unfavorable to do things in a big way.

Top line Yin: Mounted on a horse but at a standstill, you weep uncontrollably.
