How did Zhuge Liang, the famous Chinese military strategist from Three Kingdoms, knew where the wind will blow? And thus set fire to burn Cao Cao's ships. At the right time. Destroying his entire naval forces. The wind direction helped to blow the fire towards Cao Cao's side instead of toward his.

And that was how Zhuge Liang helped won the decisive battle at Red Cliff in 208-209 AD.

So, how did Zhuge Liang know when the wind direction would change?

As the title of this article suggests, he had used the art of prediction. It is the Plum Blossom Yijing prediction method.

Can you really predict the future?

According to my Sifu, who taught me the Plum Blossom Yijing method, not only the future. We can even 'see' the past. And events that happened in a far away place.

Let us pause for a moment. And read the story of Ms. Tan and her condo unit.

And that's what I 'saw'. And she confirmed some of the things that I said.

Zhuge Liang was a master in more advanced Yijing prediction technique. And a master like my Sifu can predict and forecast even more things accurately.

In Zhuge Liang's time, it was common for military advisors to practice the Yijing prediction method.

This was written in Sun Tzu's Art of War, one the 5 fundamental factors to assess the outcome of a war is: 'By "heaven", I mean the effects of night and day, of good and bad weather, of winter's cold and summer's heat; in short, the conduct of military operations in accordance with the changes of natural forces.'

The job as a military advisor is to advise where and when to attack the enemy. And he ought to know the weather patterns well. But often times, the battles were fought in a foreign place. And he could only learn about the weather pattern through Yijing prediction art.

With my own experience of using this method, I have:

  • calculated accurately how much salary a person will get for his new job.

  • calculated accurately how much I could sell my car for.

  • accurately knew what time of the day my wife would find back her missing jacket and where it would be found.

  • knew which part of my brother-in-law's car was hit in an accident; what color of the car that hit him; and 'saw' it was an old male driver.

  • and cases like Ms. Tan's.

I have used it at times where I need to make difficult decisions. To choose which path to take. To choose the timing to execute a project.

My Sifu also have a lot of documented experiences of using Yijing. He found his lost items by knowing exactly where to look for it. How he knew what happened to his clients recently. How he knew which part of the car was giving problem. And much more.

There is really so much more. And with the advanced technique, we 'see' clearer. More detail. More accurate timing.

And that's how Zhuge Liang won the battle. Because he could predict the wind direction of a future date.
